Smart Surveying Innovation Competition 2026 selects 20 finalists
The Smart Surveying Innovation Competition 2026, a collaborative initiative by the Housing Bureau, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Cyberport, and the University of Hong Kong, has announced its finalists. The competition saw significant interest, with approximately 400 participants forming 120 teams and submitting over 120 preliminary proposals.
Following an initial professional evaluation, 20 teams have advanced to the next stage. These finalists are distributed across four challenge categories: Contract Advisory, Progress Payment Valuation, Professional Category Free Proposals, and Student Category Free Proposals.
From September to November, finalists will receive professional resources, including computing power support, sample data, AI workshops led by experts, and site visits to construction projects. The competition will culminate in a 48-hour innovation marathon in November, where teams will compete to develop AI-driven solutions for surveying and construction challenges. Winners may have opportunities to collaborate with organizers on proof-of-concept projects and implementation for Hong Kong's public housing sector.
