SMARTFREN launches Unlimited 5G service in Semarang, Indonesia

SMARTFREN, the consumer brand of PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk, has introduced an Unlimited 5G plan in Semarang, Central Java. The offering provides customers unlimited data speed while they are within the operator’s 5G coverage, removing quota limits for work, study, entertainment and content creation. Group Head of Marketing Segment SMARTFREN, Astiyanto Tri Muktiwibowo, said the service is meant to give “greater freedom” to users and support productivity and digital opportunities.

The launch is part of XLSMART’s broader push to expand 5G availability across Indonesia through 2026. Nationwide the company operates more than 25,500 4G base stations; in Semarang it runs about 1,700 4G and over 400 5G sites, reinforcing network capacity for residential, governmental, business, industrial, educational and tourism areas.
