Smartphone battery technology advances toward 10,000 mAh capacity

New developments in smartphone battery technology are pushing toward significantly higher capacities. Android manufacturers are reportedly testing a new generation of batteries that could reach 10,000 mAh in premium devices. This advancement may involve using rigid metal casings instead of traditional flexible aluminum pouches to better utilize internal space, alongside stacked cell designs and silicon-carbon anodes to increase energy density.

One specific model features a 7,500 mAh battery capable of providing up to 91 hours of music playback or 28 hours of video. This device also supports 45W fast charging, allowing for a full charge in approximately 96 minutes, and includes reverse wired charging at 22.5W.

Industry leaks suggest major Chinese manufacturers, potentially Xiaomi, are already evaluating these innovations. For instance, a model presented in China featured an 8,500 mAh battery, signaling a shift toward massive capacities in mainstream high-end smartphones.
