Smartphone manufacturers launch high-capacity battery devices

The consumer electronics market is seeing a significant shift toward high-capacity batteries in mainstream smartphones and tablets. As of August 2026, manufacturers are moving beyond the standard 5,000 mAh capacity to offer much larger power reserves in relatively slim designs.

Key developments include the launch of the iQOO Z11S in China, which features a 10,000 mAh battery within an 8.59 mm chassis, and the iQOO Neo11 Ultra with a 9,100 mAh battery. Other notable releases include the POCO M8 Power in India, utilizing 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon technology, and the realme 16x 5G with a 7,000 mAh capacity.

In the tablet sector, Honor is preparing the Honor Pad 20 Pro, which is expected to feature a massive 10,100 mAh battery. Additionally, leaks regarding the vivo V80 Lite suggest a move toward 7,050 mAh batteries, potentially utilizing silicon-carbon cells to maintain slim aesthetics while providing multi-day battery life.
