Smartphone storage management tips for mobile users

To manage limited smartphone storage, users should look beyond photos and videos to identify major space consumers such as large applications and accumulated files. For instance, the game ‘Genshin Impact’ can require at least 40 GB of free space, which accounts for nearly one-third of a 128 GB device.

Experts suggest checking phone settings to see how much space is allocated to apps, photos, videos, and system data. Messaging apps can also accumulate significant amounts of received media.

Periodically clearing the application cache can free up substantial space. On Android devices, this can be done through the settings menu by selecting an app and choosing ‘Storage’ to clear the cache. iPhone users may need to use specific settings within individual apps, as there is no single global button to clear all app caches in the general settings.
