SmartyKids students win awards at National Mental Arithmetic Olympiad

Students from SmartyKids centers in Suceava, including Rădăuți, Cajvana, Vicovu de Sus, and Marginea, achieved significant success at the 6th National Mental Arithmetic Olympiad held in Brașov on October 17–18, 2026.

Competing against 674 participants from across Romania, the students faced high-difficulty tasks requiring them to solve 360 calculations within 18 minutes. The competition tested mathematical knowledge, calculation speed, concentration, and the ability to perform under intense time pressure.

Key winners included Ștefan Simota, who secured first place, as well as Ana Petra Encut and Luca Grigoraș, who also earned first-place honors. Other top performers secured second, third, and fourth places, bringing home a total of multiple awards for the Suceava centers. Coordinators noted that the results reflect months of intensive training involving students, teachers, and parents.
