SMATA and ACARA sign new wage agreement for Argentine auto‑transport workers

The Sindicato de Mecánicos y Afines del Transporte Automotor (SMATA) reached a new collective bargaining agreement with the Asociación de Concesionarios de Automotores (ACARA) under the 776/2019 collective labor contract. Signed on 30 July 2026, the deal sets revised basic salary scales and additional allowances for August and September 2026, covering various categories of automotive service personnel, administrative staff, sales promoters, and general services. Increases range from roughly 6 % to 7 % over the previous amounts, with specific figures such as a basic of ARS 2,093,800.83 for senior service specialists and ARS 1,301,741.68 for administrative assistants. The agreement also includes vacation pay, transport reimbursements, language and qualification bonuses, and provisions for future negotiations starting in October.

The new wage structure aims to improve earnings for workers in the Argentine automotive transport sector and will serve as a basis for subsequent salary negotiations later in the year.
