SMEDA CEO highlights growth potential for Pakistan's printing industry
Nadia Jahangir Seth, CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), has identified significant growth potential within Pakistan’s printing and signage industry. Speaking at the inauguration of the 9th International Digital Printing & Signage Exhibition in Lahore, Seth noted that the adoption of digital and creative solutions is enabling micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to innovate and compete in both domestic and international markets.
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Industries Advisor Haroon Akhtar Khan, SMEDA is working to foster an environment conducive to MSME growth. Key initiatives include formalization through the SME Registration Portal (SMERP), enhancing access to finance, promoting digital adoption, and improving product quality and standards to expand export opportunities.
Seth emphasized the necessity of collaboration between SMEDA, industry associations, technology providers, and financial institutions to resolve sector-specific constraints. Saleem Tanoli, CEO of Fakt Exhibitions, stated the event serves as a platform for manufacturers, distributors, and entrepreneurs to connect.
