Smederevo to host elite international athletics meeting

The 5th Serbia Athletics Meeting will take place on September 2 at the Smederevo Fortress stadium, featuring an elite field of Olympic and world medalists, European champions, and top-tier sprinters.

The men's 100-meter race is a highlight, featuring several athletes who have run under ten seconds this season. Competitors include American Roni Baker, ranked eighth globally for 2026 with a 9.88 result, Jamaican Kadrian Goldson, South African Bayanda Valaza, and Canadian Jerome Blake.

In the shot put, Italian Zane Weir will compete against American Payton Otterdahl. The 110-meter hurdles will feature South African Antonio Alkana, while the women's 100-meter hurdles includes former world record holder and Olympic silver medalist Kendell Harrison.

The women's 100-meter sprint will include Canadian Sha'Carri Richardson (Shade Mekrit) and American Jenna Prandini. Other notable participants include Brazilian javelin thrower Jusceline Sales de Lima and German silver medalist Julia Ulbright.
