SMEs drive 52% of health insurance quotes in Brazil

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly seeking health insurance, accounting for approximately 52% of all quotes in the supplementary health market during the first half of 2026. According to data from technology company Dimensa, SMEs represented 1.4 million of the 2.7 million total health insurance inquiries made on its platform.

This trend indicates that health benefits are becoming a vital tool for talent attraction and retention among smaller businesses. To meet this demand, operators are adapting their models to provide both effective assistance and cost predictability. The health insurance provider Alice has seen significant growth in this segment, with SMEs representing more than 90% of its new sales. Alice utilizes a coordinated care model featuring family doctors to manage continuous health monitoring and reduce urgent medical needs.
