Smilegate Hope Studio and Yonsei University provide medical aid in Vietnam
Smilegate Hope Studio and the Yonsei University Health System conducted a medical volunteer program for children with cleft lip and palate at the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children in Vietnam from May 15 to 17. The initiative, themed ‘GIVE for SMILE’, aimed to provide surgical and medical support to children who missed treatment opportunities due to poor economic and medical conditions.
In addition to medical services, the program included activities where creators from the volunteer group ‘Crayon’ engaged with children through decorating hats, shoes, and t-shirts. A total of 21 participants, including 13 medical professionals led by Dean Jung Young-soo of the Yonsei University College of Dentistry, took part in the mission. This collaboration has been ongoing since 2017, benefiting approximately 2,000 children and their guardians to date.
Smilegate Hope Studio is also running a fundraising campaign titled ‘Smiles for Cleft Lip and Palate Children’ until next month. All proceeds from this campaign, without any deductions for operating costs, will be used to purchase and provide specialized feeding bottles for children with cleft lip and palate.
