Smilegate showcases new titles at Tokyo Game Show 2026
Smilegate concluded its participation at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where the company showcased demos for two upcoming titles: ‘MIRESI: Invisible Future’ and ‘Dead Account: Two Blue Flames’. The exhibition drew significant interest, with demo zones experiencing wait times exceeding two hours and social media engagement for ‘MIRESI’ exceeding 5 million views on X.
During the event, Smilegate Chief Business Officer Baek Young-hoon emphasized a strategic focus on the Japanese market, prioritizing player retention and brand loyalty over immediate revenue. The company aims to expand its subculture-style game portfolio, projecting that anime-style titles will constitute more than half of its total offerings within the next two to three years.
Smilegate’s strategy involves selecting titles based on their alignment with local player preferences regarding worldbuilding, character design, and gameplay. The company continues to build upon the success of previous titles like ‘Epic Seven’ while managing its existing Megaport operations and the STOVE platform.
