SMK Helmets achieves first 4-star SHARP safety rating for Indian manufacturer
SMK Helmets has become the first Indian helmet manufacturer to receive a 4-star safety rating from SHARP (Safety Helmet Assessment and Rating Programme), the UK’s independent, government-funded safety body. The rating was awarded to the company’s top-selling full-face model, the Typhoon.
SHARP testing involves 32 impact tests across seven samples of varying sizes, measuring force transmitted to the head at different speeds and zones. The Typhoon features an Energy-Impact-Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) shell.
In the Indian market, several premium full-face helmets are available under Rs 15,000, including the SMK Titan Carbon, which utilizes carbon composite fiber technology, the KYT TT Revo, which holds ECE 22.06 and ISI certifications, and the HJC C10.
