Smoked salmon products recalled over Listeria contamination concerns

Multiple recalls of smoked salmon products have been issued due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

In Ireland, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a Category 1 recall for a 400g batch of Wrights of Marino Sliced Smoked Salmon. The affected product carries the batch code ‘Yellow A38’ and a use-by date of 6 October 2026. Consumers are advised not to consume the product if it matches these specific details.

In the United States, Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc is voluntarily recalling Starfish Seafood Premium Cold Smoked Norwegian Salmon (8-ounce/227-gram vacuum-sealed packages) following detection of potential contamination by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. The recall affects lot number D080-148 and includes distribution in New York, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. No illnesses have been reported. Additionally, the company has recalled its ‘Starfish Seafood Trio’—consisting of cold smoked salmon, halibut, and trout—due to similar concerns.
