Smoulder releases new album ‘Witch Wife in an Alien World’

The Canadian metal ensemble Smoulder has released their third album, ‘Witch Wife in an Alien World’. The collection features eight songs that blend heavy metal with hard-rocking doom, following their 2023 release ‘Violent Creed of Vengeance’.

Drawing from the personal experiences of vocalist Sarah Ann, who moved to Finland, the album explores themes of isolation, human disconnection, and the impact of immigration. The lyrical content uses fantastical elements to address real-world issues, including reflections on the social systems and quality of life found in Finland.

The album was recorded at Soundwell Studio and Swift Road Studios, with artwork provided by British illustrator Ian Miller. The band lineup includes Sarah Ann on vocals, Shon Vincent and Collin Wolf on guitars, Adam Blake on bass, and Kevin Hester on drums.
