Smoulder to release third album ‘Witch Wife In An Alien World’

The metal band Smoulder is set to release their third album, ‘Witch Wife In An Alien World’, on October 9. The group, which consists of Canadian and American members currently residing in Finland, is incorporating new musical elements into their sound, including influences from Greek Black Metal and the work of Bathory.

The upcoming album is described as the band’s most personal and experimental work to date. New tracks such as ‘Crush The Neophytes’ and ‘Water Wars’ showcase a shift toward a ‘Blackened Heavy Metal’ style, featuring blastbeats and themes ranging from the historical critiques of Christian colonialism to the modern issue of water scarcity.

While the band’s evolving sound and dissonant vocal approach by frontwoman Sarah Ann may polarize listeners, the new material draws inspiration from epic and melancholic acts like Candlemass and Manilla Road.
