SMSEM teachers union calls for XLVIII Ordinary State Council in Toluca

The Teachers Union of the State of Mexico (SMSEM), led by General Secretary Jenaro Martínez Reyes, has called for its XLVIII Ordinary State Council. The meeting is scheduled for October 28 and 29 at the Prof. Agripín García Estrada Auditorium in Santa Cruz Atzcapotzaltongo, Toluca.

As the union’s highest governing body, the council will include members of the State Executive Committee, Special Commissions, and representatives from 14 union regions. The agenda is organized into five key areas: economic matters, professional and general culture, medical assistance, political-union issues, and general affairs.

Prior to the council, local committees and representatives will gather demands and concerns from the teaching staff to develop formal proposals. On October 28, Martínez Reyes is expected to present his Second Activity Report. The proceedings will conclude on October 29 with the drafting of formal petitions to be submitted to the State Government, headed by Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
