SMX Convention Centers sees 18% visitor growth in H1 2026

SMX Convention Centers, the exhibitions arm of SM Prime Holdings Inc., reported an 18% increase in visitor traffic during the first half of 2026. The company welcomed 4.3 million visitors from January to June, up from 3.6 million during the same period the previous year.

The flagship SMX Convention Center Manila led the growth, accounting for over 2.5 million visitors. Other regional venues in Davao, Bacolod, and Clark also experienced increased traffic. During this six-month period, the company hosted 807 booked events, including Worldbex 2026 and the International Travel Expo.

To accommodate rising demand, SMX is expanding its capacity. The SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is expected to become the largest convention center in the Philippines. Additionally, SMXCITE in Pasay City is slated for completion in early 2027. Once operational, these developments will bring the company's total leasable area to over 90,000 square meters across seven convention centers and six trade halls.
