SMX League announces new World All-Star Championship format for 2027

The SMX League has announced an expansion of its SMX Next program to create a unified athlete development pathway. Starting in 2027, the SMX Next World All-Star Championship will combine talent competitions from the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship and the Pro Motocross Championship, which are sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.

The new format includes 10 regular-season events, featuring 25 athletes at five Supercross races and five Pro Motocross races to ensure equal representation across disciplines. Athletes will earn points throughout these events to determine seeding for the postseason SMX Next World All-Stars. These postseason races will take place during Playoff 1 and Playoff 2 of the SMX World Championship.

The program also integrates SMX Next Australia to further strengthen the pipeline for the next generation of professional racers.
