Smyrna Ensemble to perform at Ephesus Culture and Art Festival
Smyrna Ensemble, a 24-member musical group established by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, is scheduled to perform at the Ephesus Culture and Art Festival on September 5. The ensemble's performance will feature a unique repertoire titled ‘Raks-ı Politen’, bridging various genres including Neapolitan classics, traditional Turkish music, Turkish pop, and Anatolian rock.
Following its launch concert on June 13 at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center and a performance on July 14 at the Historical Gas Factory, the group is currently preparing for its upcoming festival appearance. Cevat Oker, the Head of the Events and Organization Branch, noted that the municipality employs approximately 100 musicians across various musical groups to contribute to the city's cultural life.
