Sýn and Ásar terminate media acquisition negotiations

Sýn and Ásar, the parent company of Síminn, have terminated negotiations regarding the acquisition of Sýn’s web and radio media assets. The deal, which was initially announced in March, was expected to have a total value of 5.2 billion ISK.

The assets involved in the failed negotiations include some of Iceland’s most popular leisure media outlets, such as Vísir and Bylgjan. Both companies involved in the discussions are listed on the stock exchange.
