Hospital Alto Guadalquivir investigates two snake sightings in patient rooms

Authorities in Andalusia are investigating the appearance of two snakes inside the Hospital Alto Guadalquivir in Andújar, Jaén, within a two-week period. The most recent incident occurred over the weekend when a staff member discovered a reptile curled around the motor of a patient's bed in the inpatient area.

The Seprona unit of the Guardia Civil was called to remove the animal, which was confirmed to be a non-dangerous species. While the situation was resolved without injury to patients or staff, the discovery caused significant tension among patients' families.

This marks the second such occurrence at the facility in fifteen days. According to union sources and family members, a previous snake was found in a different room two weeks ago and was handled by hospital security without a formal protocol. Investigators are currently reviewing the hospital's access points and outdoor patios to determine how the reptiles are entering the building.
