Snam expands food poverty initiative across 24 Italian cities
The Snam corporate volunteering program, ‘Insieme per gli altri’, has reached a new milestone in its fight against food poverty. In its fifth edition, the initiative expanded its reach from seven to 24 Italian cities, involving 1,500 volunteers including employees, retirees, and suppliers.
Promoted by Fondazione Snam ETS in collaboration with Fondazione Azione Contro la Fame, the program saw a 24% increase in participation compared to last year. The current edition included 47 host organizations and 252 volunteering activities, representing a 72% increase in activities compared to 2025. Volunteers engaged in food recovery, distribution, baking, and canteen services.
Over the five editions of the program, the initiative has reached more than 273,000 beneficiaries, moved nearly 500,000 kilograms of food, and generated over 15,000 hours of volunteer work. Alessandro Zehentner, President of Fondazione Snam ETS, noted that the growth is supported by collaborations with the Third Sector, which strengthens the initiative's national network.
