Snap and Google showcase new hardware at Snapdragon Summit

At the Snapdragon Summit, new hardware developments from Snap and Google were showcased. Snap demonstrated its SPECS augmented reality glasses, which offer spatial computing capabilities in a form factor that does not require a bulky headset or external battery pack. The device allows users to anchor digital windows to physical spaces using hand gestures like pointing and pinching. The SPECS glasses are expected to begin shipping in fall 2026 with a starting price of $2,195.

Google also introduced Googlebooks, a new computing experience that merges elements of ChromeOS and Android to better integrate with smartphones and leverage AI. Unlike traditional low-cost Chromebooks, Googlebooks are being positioned as premium devices. Early models showcased include the HP Googlebook 14, priced at $1,299, and the Dell XPS Googlebook, both powered by Snapdragon X Elite processors.
