Donald Trump discloses thousands of stock trades amid ongoing war in Iran

Financial disclosure filings from the Office of Government Ethics reveal that President Donald Trump has engaged in an unprecedented volume of stock trading while in office. During the first half of 2026, the President's accounts executed thousands of transactions across various sectors, including energy, technology, and pharmaceuticals.

Notably, the disclosures show significant activity in energy stocks, such as Exxon Mobil, during the ongoing U.S. war with Iran. Other major transactions included purchases and sales of securities in companies like Boeing, Amazon, Netflix, Disney, and Nvidia. One specific report confirmed that Trump purchased between $250,001 and $500,000 in Boeing stock on the same day the U.S. Navy awarded the company an $880 million contract.

The White House has maintained that the President's portfolio is independently managed through discretionary accounts and computer-based model portfolios, asserting that he has no ability to direct or influence specific investment decisions. However, the frequency and timing of these trades have drawn intense scrutiny from Democrats and ethics watchdogs regarding potential conflicts of interest and the ability to profit from presidential policy and geopolitical events.
