SnapDragon apple commercial season approaches in Poland

The first commercial season for SnapDragon apples in Poland is approaching, with early indicators suggesting a promising start for the variety in the European market. Kamila Jankowska, owner of the Polish nursery Perfect Fruits Sp. z o.o., reported that despite initial uncertainties regarding crop development, both the trees and the fruit have responded well to environmental challenges.

Jankowska noted that the season presented significant meteorological difficulties, including spring frosts, extreme heat, water shortages, excessive rain, and hail. To mitigate these risks, the orchards utilized hail protection netting, which proved reliable. While harvest volumes remain relatively limited due to this being the inaugural commercial season, the company views the period as a vital market introduction and a consumer testing phase.
