Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme outperforms Intel and AMD in new benchmarks

New benchmarks from Signal65 indicate that the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme (X2E-96-100) significantly outperforms competitors Intel Core Ultra X9 388H and AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 in both CPU and AI tasks.

In Geekbench 7 testing, the Snapdragon chip showed a lead of up to 53% over Intel and 83% over AMD. In Cinebench 2026 multi-core tests, the performance gap reached up to 87%. Notably, the Snapdragon system running on battery in Balanced mode outperformed the Intel system while it was plugged into power in Best Performance mode.

Regarding AI capabilities, the Snapdragon platform demonstrated performance nearly double that of Intel and approximately 2.4 times that of AMD in Procyon AI Computer Vision tests. The Snapdragon chip features an 18-core CPU, an Adreno X2-90 GPU, and a Hexagon NPU with 80 TOPS.

Signal65 noted that the Snapdragon-based laptop tested had a starting price of approximately $1,699, compared to the Intel system at roughly $2,299, suggesting a higher performance-to-price ratio.
