SNCF and Eurostar services disrupted by fatal accident near Paris
High-speed rail traffic involving SNCF TGV and Eurostar services was significantly disrupted on Tuesday morning following a fatal person-on-track accident near Fresnoy-Le-Luat in the Oise department. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m., leading to delays of up to three hours for services traveling to and from Paris Gare du Nord.
Eurostar services connecting London, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Cologne experienced average delays of approximately one hour. To manage the disruption, SNCF Réseau diverted high-speed trains onto conventional tracks while emergency services and authorities attended the scene.
A crisis unit was established at Gare du Nord to assist passengers, allowing them to modify tickets for later departures without additional fees. By midday, most services had progressively returned to normal, though some trains continued to report minor delays of up to 45 minutes.
