SNCF TER hits pedestrian in Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, stops Nantes‑Angers rail

A regional TER train operated by SNCF struck a pedestrian on the Nantes‑Angers line near Sainte‑Luce‑sur‑Loire at about 18:10 on 2 August 2026. The train, carrying roughly 200 passengers, was forced to stop on the tracks, prompting a full suspension of rail traffic between Nantes and Ancenis. The interruption also affected services toward Angers and Paris, with some Paris‑Nantes trains delayed by up to three hours.

Rescue crews, police and firefighters were deployed, and a gendarmerie investigation was opened to determine the circumstances. The railway operator estimated that traffic could resume around 20:30, contingent on the completion of safety checks and the investigation. The condition of the pedestrian was not reported at the time of writing.
