Sándor Pinczehelyi exhibition opens in Pécs

To celebrate his 80th birthday, internationally recognized Eastern European avant-garde and pop art figure Sándor Pinczehelyi is the subject of a major exhibition at the m21 Gallery in Pécs. Organized by Zsolnay Örökségkezelő NKft., the exhibition features approximately 150 works spanning nearly six decades of artistic production.

The collection includes iconic motifs such as the hammer and sickle, the red star, and the Hungarian tricolor, alongside previously unpublished works and pieces previously shown in Toronto and Berlin that are being exhibited in Hungary for the first time. The diverse display is organized into nine thematic units and includes photography, paintings, serigraphs, spatial sculptures, prints, and enamel works.

In conjunction with the exhibition, which runs until November 8, a book titled ‘Somosi Rita Pinczehelyi’ will be released during the PécsLIT Festival, offering insight into the artist’s thoughts and creations from the last fifteen years.
