Sándor Tóth faces life-saving liver transplant

Sándor Tóth, known as ‘Csövi’, the frontman of the Hungarian rock band Alcohol, is facing a life-threatening health crisis. Diagnosed with severe liver failure nearly three years ago, his condition has steadily declined, and doctors have determined that a liver transplant is his only life-saving option.

The required transplant is described as an extremely complex and costly procedure that would likely need to take place abroad. While Tóth has attempted to maintain an active lifestyle—writing songs, filming videos, and performing—he has expressed that he is mentally preparing for the worst.

In response to his situation, members of the band Tankcsapda, specifically László Lukács and Tamás Fejes, have stepped forward as patrons to lead a fundraising effort. A mini-festival is scheduled for October 9 to help cover the medical costs. Although Tóth initially hesitated to accept public assistance, he stated he felt compelled to accept the support after seeing the widespread commitment from fellow musicians, labels, and fans.
