Sneekweek Festival in Sneek, Netherlands Anticipates 300,000 Visitors

The 89th edition of Sneekweek, the annual water‑sports festival in Sneek, Netherlands, is expected to draw around 300,000 visitors. Organisers report participation from 600 boats and more than 1,000 sailors, with new race classes spread over multiple days to keep the Snitser Mar crowded.

A multi‑day beach‑volleyball event will be held in the historic city centre, featuring a temporary beach complex, a central court with tribune seating, and food and sponsor activations. Thirty couples have already entered the "King of the Court" tournament. The festival also showcases a new joint visual identity for the Royal Water Sports Association Sneek (KWS) and the Sneekweek foundation, aiming to streamline information on a single website.

The organisers hope the successful 2024 edition will set the stage for an even larger celebration in the 90th anniversary next year.
