Sângeorz-Băi plans wellness center to revitalize historic spa town

The local government of Sângeorz-Băi, a historic spa town in Bistrița-Năsăud County, is planning to revitalize the area through public investment. The proposal involves creating a modern medical treatment center and a wellness complex located within the spa park.

The project aims to leverage the town's municipal mineral water source, number 6, to restore the area's former prominence. While the town once attracted significant numbers of visitors due to its hotels and villas, many facilities have since closed or operate only partially. Although the plan is not new, implementation has faced delays for years due to changes in government and ministerial leadership, which have hindered the securing of necessary funding.
