Snipe World Championship: Del Castillo brothers lead in Mahón

Low wind conditions have disrupted the Snipe World Championship held at the Club Marítimo de Mahón. Due to insufficient wind speeds, the racing committee was only able to complete a single race during the recent session.

Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo, representing the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, have taken the lead in the general classification with 16 points. Their fourth-place finish in the single completed race allowed them to move ahead of previous leaders.

Race officials noted that the wind dropped to three knots during initial attempts, necessitating postponements. The committee required a minimum of five knots to proceed. While weather forecasts initially suggested improved conditions, the racing schedule remains heavily dependent on wind stability.
