SNMPE awards 12 students in electricity education contest
The National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE) has awarded 12 primary and secondary school students from Lima, Amazonas, Lambayeque, La Libertad, and Ucayali for participating in the third edition of the “La Ruta de la Electricidad” contest.
The educational initiative invited students from public and private institutions across Peru to submit creative videos explaining the production, transport, and distribution of electricity. Participants used digital formats inspired by platforms like YouTube and TikTok to demonstrate how the electrical industry contributes to regional development and daily life.
This edition received over 360 entries from 20 regions. Arequipa submitted the highest number of works with 118, followed by Lima with 107 and Piura with 23. The contest featured two categories: “Niños” for 5th and 6th-grade primary students, and “Jóvenes” for 1st and 2nd-year secondary students.
