Snooker heritage highlighted ahead of UK Seniors Championship

The UK Seniors Snooker Championship is set to be held at St George’s Hall in Liverpool in February 2027. The upcoming event draws on a long sporting legacy in the city, where the venue has hosted world champions and historic matches for over 80 years.

Since the post-war era, the Concert Room at St George’s Hall has served as a distinctive venue for professional competition. Notable players who have competed there include Joe Davis, Fred Davis, Walter Donaldson, Horace Lindrum, George Chenier, and Sidney Smith. The venue's history with the sport dates back to March 1946, following a sold-out exhibition match between the Davis brothers.
