Snoop Dogg hosts MTV VMAs in Los Angeles

Rapper Snoop Dogg hosted the MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, delivering a chaotic opening monologue. During his speech, he poked fun at Madonna, calling her an icon, and noted that he only accepted the hosting role because the event was being held in his hometown.

In a nod to his long-standing public association with cannabis, Snoop Dogg promised to provide “special, sticky, icky, icky” to every winner of the ceremony. The monologue also included mentions of various musical artists in attendance, including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, and Lisa.
