Snoop Dogg to host MTV VMAs in Los Angeles

Snoop Dogg will host the MTV Video Music Awards, which are returning to the West Coast on September 27. The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles via CBS, MTV, and Paramount+.

This marks the first time since 2017 that the awards show has been held outside of the New York or New Jersey area. Snoop Dogg, a 13-time nominee and three-time Moon Man winner, described the hosting opportunity as a “full-circle moment” given his long history with the network.

In terms of nominations, Madonna leads the field with 11 nods, including Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for “Confessions II — The Film.” Taylor Swift follows with nine nominations. Other highly nominated artists include Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, PinkPantheress, and Zara Larsson. Additionally, Nirvana is set to receive the Video Vanguard award.
