Snow Man's Hikaru Iwamoto stars in Sanada Ten Braves ninja drama

The new ninja action period drama ‘Sanada Ten Braves: Shadows of the Ten Ninja’ is set to premiere on TV Asahi and Netflix. Starring Hikaru Iwamoto of the group Snow Man as Sarutobi Sasuke, the series blends historical facts with fiction to tell the story of ten fictional vassals serving the legendary Sanada Yukimura.

Set 14 years after the Battle of Sekigahara, the narrative follows the ‘indomitable ninjas’ as they attempt an impossible counterattack against the absolute power of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The production utilized extensive filming in Kyoto and incorporated advanced AI technology for its visual expressions.

Iwamoto noted the challenges of the role, including performing complex action scenes involving ‘clones’ and filming intense sequences. The series aims to appeal to both domestic Japanese audiences and international viewers through its global streaming availability.
