Snowball Games announces Portentum cryptid deck-builder

Snowball Games has announced the first trailer for Portentum, a cryptid-themed deck-building auto-battler. The game features hand-drawn artwork of legendary creatures such as Bigfoot, Mothman, the Jersey Devil, and the Chupacabra.

Players construct a 30-card deck consisting of cryptids and mushrooms, each possessing unique abilities like damage dealing, healing, or dice manipulation. Gameplay involves managing a five-slot warband and winning ten rounds to secure victory, while five losses end a run. The title will feature asynchronous PvP, where player-created warbands are added to a pool for others to face.

Portentum is currently available to wishlist on Steam, with a planned release in 2026. An early playable version is expected to be available at PAX West in Seattle.
