Snowfall blankets high-altitude regions across Turkey
Early seasonal snowfall has blanketed various high-altitude regions across Turkey. In the Safranbolu district of Karabük, snow covered pine forests at an altitude of 1,700 meters, surprising local residents who had entered the woods to forage for mushrooms.
Other provinces have also experienced significant snowfall in their highland areas. In Manisa, snow reached depths of over 5 centimeters at the 1,650-meter Büyük Yayla, with temperatures dropping to -3 degrees Celsius. In Afyonkarahisar, the Kumalar Yaylası at 2,250 meters saw precipitation turn to snow.
Additional reports indicate snowfall in the high elevations of Sakarya, specifically in the Dikmen and Çiğdem plateaus, as well as in the Kardüz and Sinekli plateaus of Düzce. Uşak has also seen its first seasonal snow cover its high-altitude villages and forested areas.
