Snowfall hits high-altitude regions in Argentina during spring

Unusual snowfall has been recorded in high-altitude regions of Argentina during the spring season. In Tucumán, low temperatures and rainfall caused snow to cover the peaks of the Valles Calchaquíes and Tafí del Valle, creating a winter-like landscape in October.

Similarly, in Córdoba, snow fell across the Altas Cumbres, visible from areas such as Los Hornillos in the Traslasierra valley. The weather event was accompanied by unstable conditions, including high humidity, low temperatures, and fog. In Córdoba, the snowfall and persistent drizzle caused visibility issues and water accumulation on roads, leading authorities to advise travelers to exercise extreme caution on the Camino de las Altas Cumbres.
