Snowflake to invest $300 million in Saudi Arabia
Snowflake, an AI Data Cloud firm, has announced plans to invest a forecasted $300 million in Saudi Arabia by 2030. In collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the company aims to support digital transformation and local skill development.
A central component of this partnership is the ‘One Million Minds’ initiative, which seeks to provide data and AI training to up to 25,000 learners over the next five years. This program will include Snowflake University certifications, mentorship through the Saudi Arabia Data and AI Community, and the introduction of Snowflake Academia to the Middle East to assist universities in modernizing their curricula.
In addition to workforce development, Snowflake intends to expand its infrastructure in the region. Following its Google Cloud Dammam region, the company plans to introduce two additional cloud regions in Saudi Arabia during the latter half of 2026 to provide multi-cloud options and support data residency and sovereignty requirements.
