SNP launches ‘Choose Scotland’ independence campaign
The Scottish National Party (SNP) has announced the launch of ‘Choose Scotland’, its largest pro-independence campaign since the 2014 referendum. Announced by First Minister and party leader John Swinney during the party’s annual conference in Aberdeen, the initiative is part of a £100,000 ‘hearts and minds’ strategy intended to build momentum for constitutional change.
The campaign will feature a new pro-independence party political broadcast and a large-scale online advertising effort. Additionally, the SNP plans to distribute independence surveys to approximately 1.5 million people. The campaign is scheduled to run through Christmas, culminating in a ‘national day of action’ on St Andrews Day involving nationwide leafleting by party activists.
During the conference, the party is also addressing various resolutions, including topics such as land taxation, social media use, and forest growth. Swinney emphasized that the campaign aims to present independence as a means to control energy wealth, rejoin the European Union, and protect social services for pensioners.
