SNTE announces payment plan for 2.13 billion peso debt to Veracruz teachers
The National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) has announced a payment schedule to settle debts exceeding 2.13 billion pesos owed to academic and support staff in Veracruz. These arrears, which date back to 2016, cover benefits related to gratifications, retirement, and settlements for personnel in upper secondary and higher education.
During the 30th anniversary celebration of the Section 32 Political Team in Úrsulo Galván, Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García met with approximately 10,000 teachers from across the state's 13 regions. Nahle emphasized that education is a priority for her administration and stated that salary increases will be addressed in accordance with federal agreements to ensure family stability.
In addition to addressing financial debts, the Governor outlined plans to improve school infrastructure, including the delivery of desks, equipment for telesecundarias, and supplies such as paint and waterproofing. The event also served as a demonstration of the political structure of Section 32 and marked the anniversary of the group's founder, Juan Nicolás Callejas Arroyo.
