SNTSS Section 10 reports partial improvements at IMSS in Tamaulipas
Jorge González Ortiz, Secretary General of Section 10 of the National Union of Social Security Workers (SNTSS) in Tamaulipas, acknowledged improvements in various areas of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). However, he cautioned that the institution is “not at one hundred percent” due to ongoing needs.
Key issues requiring continued monitoring include the supply of medications, the availability of medical supplies, infrastructure, and the functionality of climate control equipment in various medical units. González Ortiz noted that periodic evaluation meetings are held between authorities and union representatives to ensure committed actions translate into better medical care.
The union leader emphasized that while additional resource allocation could strengthen hospital and clinic operations, the union will remain vigilant to ensure budgets are effectively utilized for patient needs. He stated that the priority remains the quality of patient care and ensuring staff have the necessary tools to perform their duties.
