Brazilian towns roll out road paving and housing program upgrades

The municipality of São Bernardo expanded its "Minha Rua Nova" road‑rehabilitation program to the Jordanópolis neighbourhood, authorising works on 49 streets with an investment of about R$ 8.5 million. The works include asphalt replacement, new signage, drainage repairs and upgraded street lighting, with completion expected within 180 days.

In Orleans, the Avança Orleans programme began paving two streets in the Orlando Bussolo district, spending roughly R$ 190 000. The project aims to eliminate dust in dry periods and mud in rain, improving safety and mobility for residents.

Nossa Senhora de Nazaré inaugurated the extension of Avenida Chagas Bandeira, adding paved sections that enhance traffic flow, pedestrian safety and overall quality of life as part of the city’s ongoing urban‑infrastructure upgrades.

Simões Filho announced revisions to its Minha Casa Minha Vida housing selection process, reopening document‑submission deadlines, requiring a beneficiary declaration, and postponing the final list to 10 August. The federal‑funded housing project will deliver 480 low‑income apartments, backed by R$ 72.4 million.
