São Bernardo do Campo councilor Roberto Garcia Fuentes dies at 60

Roberto Garcia Fuentes, known as Palhinha, passed away on Monday at the age of 60. A member of the Avante party, he served as a city councilor in São Bernardo do Campo, having assumed his seat in January 2025 as a substitute for Fran Silva.

Fuentes had a political career in São Bernardo spanning 14 years, including two terms as a titular councilor and two as a substitute. His first mandate began in 2012. Beyond politics, he was a business administrator and entrepreneur in the food and beverage industry. He also served as the president of Clube Mesc from 2005 to 2012, where he was noted as the youngest president in the institution's history and implemented social inclusion projects.

Mayor Marcelo Lima expressed his condolences, describing Fuentes as a man with a “huge heart” who was deeply committed to the people of the city.
