A family dispute in the rural village of Lagoa Cumprida, located in São Brás, resulted in a man being stabbed on Tuesday, August 11. Police were called to the scene following an anonymous report of a fight involving a knife near a sports court.
Initial reports involved a teenager who claimed his uncle had assaulted him. However, a man subsequently appeared, claiming he had been stabbed in the back during a confrontation with his brother-in-law. A family member noted that the conflict between the relatives was long-standing and frequent.
Upon the arrival of reinforcement from Porto Real do Colégio, police located another individual who admitted to the fight and confirmed he had delivered the stab wound. The injured man was transferred to the Hospital de Emergência do Agreste in Arapiraca for treatment, while the other involved parties were taken to the Civil Police Station in Penedo.
