São Cristóvão festivals in Brazil attract cyclists and worshippers

On July 18, Sapiranga hosted the fifth Pedalada de São Cristóvão, a cyclist procession that began at the Parque Municipal do Imigrante (Parcão) and finished at the Paróquia São Luiz Gonzaga. The ride was part of the 35th Festa do Motorista, honored Saint Christopher as patron of drivers and cyclists, and was attended by mayor Carina Nath and Padre Sésio Bitello.

From July 16 to July 26, Divinópolis held a novena at the Paróquia de São Cristóvão. Daily masses, a luminous procession, a traditional caravan, and weekend stalls were organized by parish priests Father Flávio and Father Marcelo Caixeta. Both events celebrate São Cristóvão, the patron saint of motorists, travelers and cyclists, drawing local residents, motorists and faith communities.
